SCA is seeking a Director of Nursing for our Texas Health Surgery Center located in Rockwall, Texas!


The Rockwall Surgery Center is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in one of America’s fastest growing regions Rockwall Texas, which is a short commute from Dallas. Our center will provide care for patients starting in 2018. With two operating rooms and two procedure rooms we will provide Orthopedics, ENT, GI, Pain, and other General Surgery services 

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. They will assume responsibility as Department Manager of OR/Preop/PACU as well as but not limited to: 

  • The DON is also responsible for the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Program for the center and Education Coordinator for the facility, as well.
  • Assumes some responsibility of the Administrator in his/her absence.
  • As a Registered Nurse, the DON is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.


Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

  • Has successfully completed the program at an accredited school of nursing with a current state nursing license.
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery nursing, at least two (2) to five (5) years of nursing and management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center is desired.
  • Experience required circulating in the Operating Room; highly preferred Orthopedics specialty circulating experience
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
  • Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
  • Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation or current PALS certification.
