Facility Description:

Hawthorn Surgery Center is a busy multi-specialty, 5 OR, outpatient surgery center, primarily performing orthopedics, ENT, urology, podiatry and pain management procedures. Our center’s new building opened 3 years ago in Vernon Hills, IL and we are growing at an excitingly rapid pace.  We are looking for a positive, energetic, experienced Radiology Technologists with a proven track record of delivery excellent service to physicians, patients, and other teammates.    

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

We are seeking experienced Radiology Technologists who are dependable, detail-oriented, skilled problem solvers, and who have a collaborative, friendly working style.  Qualified candidates must have a proven track record of delivering superior service to patients, physicians, and teammates.  Candidates must exemplify our organization’s values of Clinical Quality, Integrity, Service Excellence, Teamwork, Accountability and Continuous Improvement.  The Radiology Technologist is responsible for positioning the c-arm and taking radiographs during procedures/surgeries, in addition to maintaining radiation equipment and reports. 



  • Adheres to all policies and procedures when providing patient care
  • Orients the patient and family to the patient care environment and facility routines
  • Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues
  • Knowledge of radiation equipment, including the maintenance and care of equipment
  • Applies principles of radiation protection
  • Evaluates radiographs for technical quality and stores pictures according to facility policy and guidelines
  • Maintains documentation, reports, and files according to facility policy
  • Calculates and regulates equipment using established technique, knowledge and skill
  • Knows and practices the principles and procedures of sterile technique
  • Sets up and operates radiation equipment in operating/procedure rooms
  • Assists physician with imaging procedures
  • Assists teammates with daily preparation for current and future surgery schedules (pulling cases and assembling supplies/instruments), as assigned.
  • Assist with various tasks throughout the departments, as needed and assigned by Charge Nurse.


  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Current State and ARRT License
  • Current BLS Certification or completion within 90 days of employment
