Licenses or Certificates:
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) AND completed C2 with passing score AND 5 years coding experience. Must have prior supervisory experience.
Total education, vocational training and experience:
Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, advanced understanding of published coding guidelines. Strong analytical and auditing skills, experience with appropriate coding and billing practices, ability to implement policies and standards with proficiency, expertise with requirements of third party payors. Experience with differing reimbursement systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple people and variety of schedules. Ability to meet deadlines and manage center relationships. Possess strong computer skills necessary to manage a web based coding application, variety of transcription websites, encoder product, and billing system
Proficiency or productivity standards: Maintain certification
