Danbury Surgical Center is actively hiring for a Full-Time Environmental Services Aide/Orderly to join their team. Danbury Surgical Center is a busy, well-established outpatient surgical center that has been serving the greater Danbury area for over 35 years.  Currently, we perform procedures in the specialties of Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Spine, Pain Management, and GI Endoscopy.  Our facility is open Monday – Friday and is easily accessible from I-84.

• Cleaning and maintaining the operating rooms in between procedures - this includes, but is not limited to: disinfection of floors, furniture, equipment; removing soiled laundry; emptying trash and biohazard receptacles
• Delivering requested mode of patient transport to the operating rooms at the end of each procedure
• Preparing operating rooms for procedures – this includes, but is not limited to: moving equipment in and/or out of room, properly positioning appropriate furniture and equipment, clean linens on bed, clean trash liners, having proper patient positioning devices available
• Assists with moving, transporting and positioning of patients
• Responsible for re-stocking of scrub sink supplies, hair and shoe coverings, masks and other needed PPE supplies
• Responsible for re-stocking varied supplies in operating rooms and additional storage areas
• Responsible for keeping surrounding operating room support and storage areas maintained and organized
• Receiving facility deliveries, unpacking, storing, breaking down boxes
• Removing garbage, biohazardous waste and cardboard from facility
• Performs daily/weekly inventory of supplies and notifies appropriate personnel of order needs
• Transporting STAT specimens to appropriate laboratories when needed
• Routine facility maintenance as directed

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping standards and infection control is preferred
• Basic computer knowledge and working knowledge of medical terminology
• Physical stamina required
• Ability to lift objects over 50lbs.
