Accountabilities / Responsibilities

SCA is currently accepting applications for an Associate position on its fast-paced and innovative Catalyst team. Key areas of focus include supporting health plan engagement and new product innovation, featuring SCA’s lower-cost, high-quality facilities and history of surgeon partnership. Specifically, this individual will:

  • Serve as co-system administrator on the team’s dedicated analytics server, regularly providing insights on database design/performance and resource requirements in a changing environment
  • Represent the team as SME and thought partner whenever Catalyst data is used for reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain innovative tools that serve to collect and report team input on a variety of initiatives
  • Lead the process to request, load, cleanse, and report on data sourced from external vendors
  • Gather detailed requirements as project leader on requested data and reporting
  • Create custom views of enterprise data sources for reporting in SSRS, Tableau, Excel, etc.
  • Continuously improve existing datasets and analyses, including reviewing work from others
  • Closely interact with IT department concerning changes in enterprise data sources, modifying existing reports and providing virtual training to mentor the Analytics team on complex issues
  • Communicate and enforce firewall restrictions on published data

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Extreme attention to detail while serving as a key resource in analyzing and delivering innovative solutions at the enterprise level that address complex issues
  • Ability to discern and approve needed exceptions from established structure/standards
  • Proficient in SQL Server, including a firm understanding of T-SQL functions and stored procedures
  • Ability to lead without authority through motivation that inspires other team members
  • Experienced with SQL Server security settings that utilize Active Directory groups
  • Ability to deconstruct existing processes, document key components, and make modifications that maintain relevance in a changing data environment
  • Experience with loading external flat file data using both Integration Services and the SQL Server Import/Export Wizard
  • Ability to identify patterns in, and discern relationships between, externally-provided data tables without support from the table source vendor
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build innovative tools that are tailored to end-user needs and serve to collect, store, and report user input in a SQL Server environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel a plus, including experience with VBA
  • Intermediate understanding of Tableau a plus, including using stored procedures as a data source

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Up to 10% travel for team meetings required
