Accountabilities / Responsibilities

This position will focus on the New York metro market. The Director of Business Development should be within a reasonable commutable distance of the territory.

  • Identify physician groups and ASC targets in the NY metropolitan area
  • Canvas the market to source physician practices and ASC leads
  • Have a thorough understanding of all Surgical Care Affiliates value drivers
  • Build and maintain a network of relationships in market (physicians, health system and practice executives, ASC administrators, and related vendors)
  • Collaborate with Operations and Corporate Development teams to provide valuable market intel which will help inform the growth strategy
  • Present relevant opportunities to SCA leadership to gain internal support
  • Positively contribute to team culture


  • Have a minimum of 5 years of healthcare business development or sales, with documented success in direct to physician sales
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid and in good standing Driver’s License required
  • Ability to travel up to 75% locally as needed
  • Proven track record of quickly cultivating strong business relationships
  • Communicate effectively, and with persuasion
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience working collaboratively with teams to drive progress, influence change and achieve results
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation, with ability to multi-task
  • Solid computer skills, including email, Word, Excel, Power Point, and data repository databases
  • Able to interpret and disseminate information, including key information about changes in the healthcare landscape within the geography
